charting a new course….

Sometimes the catalyst that serves to get my creative energy flowing again, is not the flowers, sunsets, and poetry but instead the challenges, frustrations and obstacles that appear in my path, usually unexpectedly, that push me in a direction I had not previously planned.

As the storm rages around me, I take stock of my situation and begin to ascertain a plan of action; do I need to go up, under, around or through this new challenge in order to land safely on a distant shore, battered but undeterred? Which resources do I possess that will allow me to proceed with success?

It is in the asking of these questions and listening to the answers from deep within, that allows me to alter my course, and determinedly adjust my sails, allowing the wind to become my ally and assist me as a navigate these shallow and unpredictable waters.

I take comfort knowing that rough seas, high winds and storms are as integral to my life as sunny, blue sky filled days, and sunsets. There may be no refuge from the storm, but I have ridden through worse and so I batten down the hatches and allow faith to be my compass and my guide.

So full speed ahead, though these waters are rough and deep, I see on the horizon the smooth, glassy, clear blue , (undisturbed, for now), waters and I am relieved and grateful that another storm has passed and I have emerged virtually unscathed.

It’s gratifying to know that you can survive a test and live to give a testimonial. The light, has changed, the current is flowing in my direction and the creative spark has returned and the challenges and obstacles have been dispersed and it looks like smooth sailing ahead.
